Carrying on an annual tradition that has been around for 54 years, the organizers of the San Antonio Folk Dance Festival (SAFDF) are happy to announce their 2012 event. Come celebrate with us for a WONDERFUL and SPECIAL WEEKEND of international folk dancing and culture.

Learn international folk dances SAFDF features workshops in beautiful and fun dances from all over the world, taught by world-renowned folk dance teachers. |

Enjoy lively dance parties Friday and Saturday culminate in parties featuring folk dance favorites that keep everyone, from complete beginners to seasoned veterans, dancing for hours. And there's great food too! |

Experience the concert of folk dance performances The SAFDF concert, held on Saturday night in the beautiful Thiry Auditorium, is a dazzling show of beautiful costumes, music, and motion by talented local performing groups and the occasional extra-special guests from far away. |

Broaden your horizons at the culture corner The workshop features an hour-long culture corner featuring one of the dance teachers or other dance luminaries. This session is enjoyable, educational, and nearly always full of surprises, with topics ranging from broad dance theory to how a rat running across a floor can inspire a dance. |

Partake of great food at the Henry Lash Bash Sunday features this historic SAFDF tradition - a delicious catered lunch and a great chance to catch up with friends old and new. |
SAFDF is held on the beautiful campus of Our Lady of the Lake University:
Road construction note: The entrance to OLLU on 24th Street is closed due to road construction. But don't worry -- just detour to the West Gate entrance from Commerce Street, across from the AutoZone auto-parts shop. This map (JPEG file, 552 KB) shows the campus, the closed road (black scribbles), and the detour (red lines).
